“Trust and Transparency” – Eunice Gall
This artwork is a visual synthesis between the human portrait and the architecture of collective memory. At the center of the composition stands the figure of a woman seen from the front, with a calm and sincere expression, becoming a symbol of vulnerability and authenticity. Her features, both strong and delicate, convey the presence of an inner solidity that does not fear being exposed to the world.

Her body dissolves into a vast landscape of cities, monuments, and iconic structures, drawn with precision and subtlety. Each building seems to represent a story, a culture, a civilization—a palimpsest of humanity. The architecture becomes a universal language, weaving together history, identity, and knowledge. The urban landscape flows organically, like a map of the inner world revealed without reservation.

At the bottom, an old tree with intertwined branches anchors the work in the idea of roots and continuity. It functions as a metaphor for trust—something that grows slowly, deepens, and evolves over time.

The theological dimension of the piece reveals itself in the figure’s serene openness: she becomes a vessel of transparency in the Spirit, echoing the way the Holy Spirit is said to illuminate, guide, and dwell within the human heart. Her form—porous, permeated by the world—suggests the mystery of divine indwelling, where the human person becomes a living temple, a place where grace flows freely.

The Christological vision emerges subtly through the interplay of strength and surrender in her gaze. She embodies the tension between earth and heaven, recalling the Christian understanding of Christ as both fully human and fully divine. The landscapes within her body—civilizations, cultures, and epochs—mirror the way Christ gathers all humanity into Himself, reconciling the fragmented world through love and sacrifice. In this reading, the architecture becomes a metaphoric “Body of the Church,” built stone by stone upon trust, truth, and revelation.

The entire painting breathes transparency: the figure’s body becomes a window, and the world around her passes through her like a confession. It is a dialogue between individual identity and the cultural and spiritual heritage of humanity, between what is seen and what remains hidden yet present.

“Trust and Transparency” speaks about the courage to be seen, about bridges between people and civilizations, and about the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in lifting human vulnerability toward divine clarity. It evokes the Christological invitation to live truthfully, to let light pass through us, and to allow our inner world to reflect the grace that shapes and sustains all things.
